Research on Bio-Based Surface Passivation for Perovskite Solar Cells Featured in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces

This research, conducted through a collaboration between Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thidarat Supasai and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chantiga Choochottiros, explores the use of chitin/chitosan-based biomaterials derived from shrimp shells and modified with polyaniline as interfacial modification materials for perovskite solar cells.

The results show that the developed material can reduce interfacial defects, enhance charge transport, and improve device stability. This work has been published in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces and selected as a Supplementary Cover, reflecting the potential of converting bio-based waste materials into value-added technologies for future clean energy applications.
